• The back of the chair does not get any closer to the wall, you can literally line it up backwards onto the wall and it will recline

• Yes, it can be close to the wall, but in order to move it you literally have to be able to get behind the chair. So, just allow enough room to get behind it so you can tilt it up...the wheels are behind the chair. Not easy to move.
