“why does the liquid fabric softner section always have water after completing the cycle? It looks nasty after a few days and no way to remove it. Or is my machine defective?? It is not a new machine, but has always been this way.”

When using the liquid fabric softener pour water down right afterwards so you can get rid of the residue.
