• You may connect them but however it most likely will not support either one of you'r hard drives.

• I purchased a 4 port of a different name and mdl but is for the same purpose and connected it to my dish network receiver, have two external harddrives connected and it works just fine. Using only one harddrive at a time of course. Sure beats getting behind the receiver each time I want to disconnect one and connect the other..

• No. This is strictly a KM, (Keyboard, Mouse) switch nothing more. It's only function is to control the keyboard and the mouse of a secondary computer with the added bonus of file transferring between the two.
