• Yes but should not need it. Usb 3.0 is backward compatible with 2.0 and 1.0

• Its a USB (2) device. To get full advantive of USB (3) speed you need a USB (3) input installed in your box. Best Buy has them and I bought/installed one. Was easy and my WD MyPassport USB (3) runs twice as fast.

• You should not need a converter. Most USB 3.0 ports are backwards compatible.

• USB 3.0 is backwards compatible no need to conver it. But, this could work for what you're trying to do. You might want to look into one that has a power supply just in case your webcam requires more power than this hub will give it. Remember, you're making one USB port into 4. The power from that one port gets split four ways.
