• The cable with the plug gets stored in the bottom of the device and when extended it's about 3 inches long.

• The plug is 2 inches long (measuring from the back of the USB port that goes into the computer to the square device housing the 4 extra USB ports).

• JamesN; The USB plug is only 3-4 inches long; that's it. Unless you have a USB extension cord to make it longer, it is rather short. It will be sitting very, very close to your laptop. Hope that helps.
