I use this on my desktop and a thin client and allows me to switch my keyboard and mouse between the 2 and acts no different if they were plug directly in. But it does wake up my desktop in sleep mode and my thin client in its save/sleep mode. But love the device saves me from swapping my mouse and keyboard back and fourth from the two devices.
