You can use a chromecast stick to do this in addition to watching TV and movies from your phone.

From my understanding it does not have .mp3 support, so you won't be able to play the music from your phone just by plugging it in via USB. On the other hand you could buy a cable that connects to the headphone jack of the phone and plug it into the TV, or using a Bluetooth adapter so that you could send sound to the TV without wires.. The cheapest method would be using the headphone jack adapter., and finally if your phone supports it buy a cable that connects to the HDMI port.

Please try again later.this is not a smart tv, I even tried to use a USB with music to play on the TV but as it is not a smart tv it does not have a music player in it, but to have picture viewer, so you can see pictures, but not play music. I do use my Apple TV to play music, so no big deal at all.
