Sometimes packages include multiple screw types for different parts. Check the instruction manual to confirm you have the right ones. Cross-threading - Remove the screws completely and examine the holes. If a screw was forced in at an angle, it may have damaged the threads. Try reinserting the screw straight and carefully by hand first. Debris in holes - Check for sawdust, plastic shavings, or packaging material inside the screw holes. Clean them out with a toothpick or compressed air. Quick fixes to try: Add washers - Place a washer or two under the screw head to take up extra space and create a tighter fit Wrap with teflon tape - Wrap a small amount of plumber's teflon tape around the screw threads to make them thicker Use slightly longer screws - If you have longer screws of the same diameter/thread, try those (but make sure they won't poke through the other side) If the holes are stripped: Fill the holes with wooden toothpicks and wood glue, let dry, then re-drill and insert screws Use slightly larger diameter screws if the originals are too loose Try toggle bolts or furniture repair dowels for a more permanent fix Safety note: Don't use the TV until the stand is completely secure. A loose stand is a tipping hazard.
