Yes it does. All the HDCP discs I have used through my computer with an HDMI cable will play just fine. And the DVD ripped files (copies of my owned original DVD's of course!) play just fine too, although they are limited to 720p through my HDMI port on a 10 year old Dell laptop, and they look great!
