I'm not sure what type of phone you have, but I have a Samsung Galaxy 6. It has a function called "smart view", once I select smart view on my phone, it will search for my TV and it will be able to display anything on my phone screen to the tv screen as long as both your TV and your phone are connected to the same WiFi
