“Does this TV require an ethernet connection to use all of its features? If so which features? I would have to run 30 to 50 feet of cable through some difficult obstacles from my Wi-Fi modem.”

It has both wifi and Ethernet. You can use either for streaming.

Those types of devices typically come with an HDMI cable to connect them to the TV's HDMI port (when connecting a 4K device to the TV be sure to use a 4K HDMI port on the TV).
