LCD means Liquid Crystal Display. LED means Light Emitting Diode. An LCD is a display technology. LED 's are what provides the light (called the Backlight) to make the picture light up. Early LCD TV 's used florescent light tubes as the light source. There's newer, and better QLED tech now (Quantum Dot Light-Emitting Diode). All of the screens are LCD, but different light sources such as LED are used.
