“This TV supports 2160p at 60 Hz, and I can get that (as checked with Settings-Info) from my separate Fire TV Cube on an HDMI input. But with the TV's own streaming, I usually see only lower picture modes (1080p &or 24Hz), even for the same movie? Why?”

This particular performance issue may depend on the settings that you have with your TV. It may be on energy saver mode or it what you're using to stream your media with and or which HDMI port you're using
