“in addition to it not being compatible with my roku device I cannot get closed captioning, cannot find and option for it ANYWHERE! anyone know how to fix this? customer service couldn't help with roku device, this "smart" TV is just too tech infested”

I had no problem getting my Roku to work. Just connect the HDMI to one of the ports and it should be detected. If not you may need a new ROKU. Closed Captioning is in the accessibility section.
