To ttt: I have your problem, which is an entertainment with a space too narrow for a 43” TV. A smaller TV was undesirable. I instead modified my entertainment center. I used two pieces of 2" x 4" wood, attached by drilling four holes through the top of my entertainment center's surface that would normally hold a less wide TV. One piece of wood is located outside the otherwise too narrow area. The other piece in inside that area. The metal legs of the 43" Insignia can rest on these pieces of wood. Both pieces of wood run in the direction from behind the TV to 1” in front of the TV. Use a nut and bolt and washer, not a screw, for each hole. An optional extra is using a router to make a space for the TV's two feet. After I had wood in the right size, I stained the wood to a color appropriate for my entertainment's stain. If you live where earthquake (or children or a pet) could move the TV, put another piece of wood on top on the metal legs, to hold down the TV. Any lumber yard or Home Depot or Lowe’s sells the wood for $3. Home Depot will saw the wood to the lengths wanted for free! Paint stores (if you have a painted surface to match) or Daly’s (if a stained surface) match samples for a modest fee or for free.
