“I have.sound but pictire is black. Could it be batterries are bad on remote”

• Does the remote perform other functions, like Volume Up/Down? If so, then remote batteries is not the problem. More likely that the LED backlight strips are burned out, but that shouldn't be right out of the box. When TV is powered on and you hear sound, shine a flashlight at the side of the black screen, if you can see shadowy images of the TV show, then your LED backlight strips are burned out. Return the TV for refund or exchange.
