“does the menu have a feature for disabling overscan on the TV? IOW i want to enable 1:1 pixel mapping. I use gnu+linux and the gpu makers only make their proprietary config GUIs for Windows, so TVs without this feature are a big problem.”

Press the Menu button on the remote, then go to Picture > Advanced Settings > and set OverScan to Off. The resolution is 1920 x 1080.
