Yes there is a remote that came with batteries loaded and a spare set. I don't remember getting any of the cables that are probably used to connect to a stereo audio unit, a DVR, or to a computer. I'm 72 and technologically challenged. Since I still have cable with a modem and router, I just connected what came off my replaced TV to the new one. I can now see parts of the picture that formerly extended past the perimeter of the screen. I don't have to look at a screen that says Ohio State 38 Northw. That's a blessing.
