Yes, I used my mini-van to pick up mine and put it on the side. Once you get it home and unpack it, I would recommend that you leave it upright for maybe 6-8 hours (probably don't need that long but just to be safe) before plugging it in so the freezer gets adjusted to the environment and being back upright. This is what was recommended to me, which I did and everything was fine.
