Do I need a special outlet for this freezer? My big freezer is acting crazy after only 7 years. I want to get a new smaller one to keep in the garage. Can I plug this one in an outlet in the garage as long as it is not on the same line with the washer? My old freezer was 13 cubic ft + -, kept in a pantry, the electrician made a big deal about hooking it up and a special plug. I should have paid more attention... Can I plug it in where the big one was? And, how long is the cord?

I ran an extension cord from a regular outlet (use at least a medium duty cord) to a regular outlet and it works fine.

No. It uses a standard outlet. The cord is short. I'd tell you exactly how long but am on vacation.

Manual says this only uses 1.3 amps so you can plug it in anywhere. Household circuits are rated for at least 15 amps. This uses less power than just about anything you have, less power than two 100w bulbs

Plugs into regular 110 outlet and the cord is about 5 or 6 feet long.
