If there is not any ventilation in the room, I would not recommend it. As long as the room is not completely closed up, you should be fine. If the freezer is enclosed in a small space without ventilation, it will get pretty warm in there and then the freezer will have to work harder to keep items frozen and you electric usage will by higher.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Should be okay as long as you can leave at least 1ft behind freezer and some space on sides to let air circulate. If you can leave door open under stairs, that would be better.
