I have a 1000 sq.ft. basement. If I set mine to 50% it will run continously. It finally stops for 1 - 2 minutes and then runs again for about 10 minutes. I have to set it for 55% or 60% for it to stay off at least as long as it runs. It just does not have the capacity of my previous two 50 pt units.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.40% is a very low humidity level for anywhere other than the Western US. You might try 50% and see how that works. Since you didn’t state if this was inside the living area or in a basement or garage, I answered based on the living area.

Press and hold the or buttons to select the number of hours before your dehumidifier will automatically turn off, then wait for the LED display to return to its previous state. The setting is saved.
