“I have my TV hooked to DIRECTV, does anybody know of a cold so that the volume and the power will work with my remote. DIRECTV remote control. The rest of the functions seem to work except for volume and power.”

You should have an HD DirecTV box; if so, then Insignia should come up in the setup screen. If not, call DirecTV and ask for programming. You can also purchase a universal remote.
