• Any surge protector will be better than nothing at all, on the other hand take into consideration how much value you will be plugging into it, then if it is over $2,000 I would consider buying a panamax

• Having a surge protector is better than nothing. From experience having a loss of TV, stereo, microwave etc. do to storm and loss of electricity cost $$$. All were fried. If you are spending $$$ it is best to have it protected as I do now. I don't worry when there is power outages. I can't answer your question for I am not expert in the field. As I have found most stores are not stocked or inventory updated but you can be sure even spending a little more to have the item quickly with great customer service!
