It can do credit cards but no way it could do plastic that thick the size of an 8x10. It could do thinner plastic in sheets that large.

I would not shred plastics with this one, except perhaps a single "overhead slide". Remember those?  Stick to 2-3 sheets of paper.

Get a commercial, high quality shredder that easily chop up credit cards.  This is a light duty, low volume PAPER shredder.  This will burn up.

It does credit cards. But, I would not take a chance on scraps of plastic. Not unless you have money in your pocket to buy another shredder for normal use.
