• I moved files from vista to 10, office professional 2010 to obusiness 2016, dell to dell. My understanding it works for vista and newer

• yes you have to choose any file or app to transfer frome one device to another

• I don't really know if you can move applications specifically, but you surely can specify what apps to move.

• It will transfer the files, but you will still need to run the install program on the new computer.
