“Data shows up on new computer but when I disconnect cable it goes away from new computer. Any help will help. Also does the new hp computer come with aorbic reader”

When the cable is connected to both of the computers, The program open ups and both of the computers you have to pick the files you want and drop them in the new one and wait until complete to disconnect the cable can you see the files on the new computer
