Garage Ready-Chest Freezer is designed to keep your food at a consistent temperature, ensuring it stays safe and fresh. Generally, frozen foods stored at 0°F (-18°C) or below can be kept indefinitely in terms of safety. However, for the best quality, different types of food have recommended storage times: meat (beef, veal, lamb, pork) is best used within 4 to 12 months, poultry (whole chicken or turkey) within 1 year, fatty fish (like salmon) within 2 to 3 months, lean fish (like cod) within 6 to 8 months, fruits and vegetables within 8 to 12 months, and cooked leftovers within 2 to 3 months. These guidelines help ensure that your food retains its best flavor, texture, and nutritional value. Additionally, when setting up your freezer, it's important to remove the exterior and interior packing and let it stand upright for approximately two hours before connecting it to power. This helps prevent any malfunctions in the cooling system due to incorrect handling during transportation. Washing the inside with a damp, warm cloth and a baking soda solution (two tablespoons in a quart of water), then wiping dry with a dry cloth, will keep your freezer looking new.
