Are you asking if it’s okay to use an extension cord with this unit? If so, keep in mind that the manual specifically advises against it and states that doing so will void your warranty: “Do not use extension cords or ungrounded (two-prong) adapters. If the power cord is too short, have a qualified electrician install an outlet near your freezer. Use of an extension cord can negatively affect your freezer’s performance.” That said, if you decide to go that route at your own risk, and you're only adding a short length (like an extra foot or two), a high-quality, UL-listed, 3-prong grounded extension cord may work without issues. Still, I’m not an electrician, so it’s best to consult someone local and qualified rather than relying on internet advice.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for your inquiry! It's generally not recommended to plug the Insignia™ 7 Cu. Ft. Garage Ready Upright Convertible Freezer into an extension cord. Freezers require a stable and consistent power supply, and using an extension cord can lead to voltage drops or overheating, which might affect the freezer's performance and safety. It's best to plug the freezer directly into a wall outlet to ensure it operates efficiently and safely. Keith | Insignia Support
