• Yes. There is a setting to back up your data or reset your tablet back to factory settings. Click on "Settings" and select "Backup & reset"

• Yes. Just go to settings and do a Factory Data Reset. It will delete/erase ALL of your data and info and put the tablet back to a "like new' state for your friend.
