I haven't found that this flashlight will do that. The buttons seem to be designed to limit unintentional usage.

Yes button is definitely either on or off. There is no momentary function for the button.

You hold the buttom for a few seconds to turn and it's the same process to turn off. Hope that makes sense.

There are two buttons, bottom is to turn on. Fully press the button once and the light will turn on/off. The other button (top one) is to increase intensity of the light. Hold that button for strobe effect.
