The fan runs off of 12VDC, 120VAC would fry it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Where would you hook it up to a tape deck? Need more description. The fan runs on 12 volts DC. It will only run for about 1/4 second before it smokes and stops if you hook it up to 120 V AC. Assuming you used 12 vdc to run it, any noise would be a factor of how you ran the wires. If they are too close to the tape head you might get unwanted noise.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can only connect it to 120 ac if you also buy a converter from somewhere. It is meant to plug into a motherboard or a computer power supply using a 3 pin pwm or a molex connection. It shouldn’t produce noise into the audio signal if connected into a separate power source, but if you are trying to rig it into your tape deck power than there is a possibility of it messing with the signal. I haven’t tried this so I don’t know for sure.
