- Answer Thank you for your inquiry! To mute the sound on your Insignia™ .9 Cu. Ft. Compact Countertop Microwave, follow these steps: In standby mode, press and hold the 8 button for three seconds. You will hear a long beep, indicating that the buzzer is turned off. To turn the buzzer back on, press and hold the 8 button for three seconds again, and a long beep will sound, indicating that the buzzer is turned back on. Keith | Insignia Support

Question2stage child lock ? How do you unlock it then and can you permanently unlock it ,? Stupid feature if you don't have potatoe brains running around. Even then, it seems uneccessary. Please tell me there's a way to disengage the lock long term ?

QuestionHow do you change power level?

- Answer First press the Time Cook button (top left) then enter the time. Next press the Power button (repeatedly to cycle through the power levels) then press Start. If there is any time leftover from a previous cook, you have to press Stop first. You can also just press Start to cook on high for 30 seconds. As push button microwaves go, this one is really easy once you get used to it.
