“My controls are not working correctly. Meaning if I press right arrow, the cursor moves down. If I hit play, it jumps down opposite of what I'm wanting and trying to do. When I maneuver the middle square on the its doing opposite of what it should do?”

Sounds defective I don't Think any of that should be happening. If you have receipt or warranty definitely give that back to manufacturer
