You will need to use the lid that comes with the pressure cooker to cook rice. The glass lid does not allow pressure to build within the pot which is needed for cooking rice.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would think so. The glass lid makes the pressure cooker act as a slow cooker. As I haven't used the rice function, I'm not sure if that performs under pressure or not. Best to see what the instructions say.
