Can this be put in an attic? null

Not sure about an attic placement. I own two. One on ground floor and one in basement. The ground floor is mounted behind my entertainment center which is near a window, no issues with reception. The basement placement has to be next to the window, or it will not receive the signal when it rains. Depending on the attic configuration it may work.

This is supplied with a short cable, several feet but not enough to get into the attic. Enclosed instructions state wall or window mount.

I put it in our upstairs window facing west where the towers are and it was way easier then the attic. I think the attic would cut down on clear reception of some of your channels
