• It means that one side is black and the other side is white to blend into your home decor. This antenna picks up color television signals.

• It doesn't pick up signal any better using on one side or the other. I have 2 of these antennas and they work satisfactory as long I have it on my window. I live 40 to 50 miles from our local stations.
