“Will this antenna work without being plugged into a power outlet, as a passive antenna?”

• It worked for me. The signal Is just a tiny bit stronger when plugged. But we have a pretty clear view so I can’t assure you. We are able to get the various iterations of the local stations and a lot of home shopping along with a couple showing old movies.
