• It should. I'm using it on a Windows 10 box (which was previously a Windows 8 box) and it worked great for both of those for my PS4 controller. I don't see why it wouldn't work with Win 7.

• It's not very reliable for use with controllers. Get something with a longer range.

• Yeah you can. The issue though is that the controller itself isn't really compatible with windows, what with Microsoft being behind it all. However there are programs out there you can download to trick the pc into thinking it's a Xbox one controller so it is usable.

• Only if you want serious latency issues even at close range in a high end rig forcing you to just use the micro USB cable
