• The am side works well. We got one for my husbands 85 year old father and he requires something something VERY simple and easy to use. He listens to the ball games on it and hasn't broken it yet messing with it.

• The AM reception is pretty good. It is better than the FM in my opinion.

• Several am stations come in quite clearly and, while I suspect most are local, i have picked up Chicago.

• Listen to it in my basement. With the antenna fully extended The local Am talk show I listen to comes in fine.

• It's okay, but I wasn't interested in AM. FM and CD's work well for the price.
