A:Answer I asked the sales rep in the store what would be compatible before I bought it, I also asked what types of CD's it would play .... this boombox is compatible with: iPod touch 4th gen (20-40GB only), iPod nanos (3, 4,5,6th generations only), and iPhones (4S, 4, 3GS, 3G only).
This boombox does play burned discs, I burn MP3's onto discs and this boombox will play them no problem. Nice feature, it allows you to add bass (feature on boombox) and in using it, it doesn't make the CD skip bc of the extra bass.
p.s. I also have been able to play older CDs that were burned using iTunes and those played as well.
