Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it is ONLY battery operated. I highly recommend only installing three of the six batteries at a time. It hardly affects the brightness and lasts 80% as long as with 6 batteries so by only doing three at a time you will use far less batteries. I personally have 20 AA rechargeable batteries I use for various things which is the only reason why I purchased this light box (a total of 5). I have two hung above my bed on the wall, one above my head and one above my wife’s, for easy access reading lights where you have complete control over brightness and color. I have a third hanging in my closet that doesn’t have a light that has come in extremely handy. The other two I purchased as backups and or my new camping lights since they are very sturdy and well built. Why these are only $9.99 is unknown to me but I recommend stocking up on them IF you have a healthy supply of rechargeable AA batteries to keep these things from becoming money pits. They are super handy and you’ll be surprised where you find a use for them once you have them.

The lamp shines out a great amount of light, and can be dimmed, which will use less battery. The light can be changed to different colors as well by a push of s button.
