Yes, you may use the converter box in place. The only down side is that you will no longer be able to watch cable TV. You will be able to get up to about 44 channels of regular TV on these boxes. Pro: no more fees Con: no more cable Depending on what TV you have, Flat screen v. the bulky older version, you may also need to buy an antenna. If you own a flat screen, then you may not need a converter box. Just the antenna.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ditch the cable! I cancelled my satellite, and don't pay for anything to get free over the air television. The only recommendation I have is get an antenna, and depending on where you live, you may want to get an amplified one.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can use this converter instead of a cable box; but you won't get all of the channels that you are use to and no Premium channels Like HBO, Starz etc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No u cannot. I tried to use instead on renting one from my cable provider and it does not work in its place.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can get many of the HDTV & digital stations in your local area which can be expanded by adding an additional antenna. HBO, Cinemax, On Demand, Fx and similar channels can only be accessed through Cable, Dish or Direct TV services.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will not work with Wow Cable. Wow subscribers have to use their converter box as Wow has to send a single to the box to activate it. I dropped my cable and now use an antenna for local tv and an android box to stream programs over my internet service.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
