• Mine works with a multiple aftermarket controller as well.

• I commiserate with you. My dog thought TV remotes were toys, too and I was able to replace them on the market. My dog has since passed and if I could not replace the remote for the converter by Insignia the same way, I would call, email or write Insignia for their suggestions.
