Yes it work with the elite controller. I also have used the Microsoft battery from the MS play charge kit in the controller and it charges that too.

Works the best for Elite controllers. could not find anything else that works without having to remove the battery cover. which leave the battery exposed.

To the person who answered above, the Xbox Elite Controller is an Xbox One controller. The question originally asked is a good question as the shape/position of the port may be slightly different on the newer controller. Unfortunately I do not own the elite controller or this charger so I can't answer.
