I tried this, and it works I guess, but its not a very good experience, it becomes top heavy and job flops. I would recommend using the stand.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. You have to use the stand. The ac adapter plugs into the back of the charging body. Also, the angle that the controllers sit at requires the charging base to be elevated with the stand.
