“how does zoom work? right now it comes up invalid on the screen”

We had even more basic functions that were identified as "invalid" when we had this unit connected to our Sharp digital TV. We managed for awhile before returning the unit as possibly defective. We did follow all of the directions and it just was just not a good match-up.
