Can I hardwire this dash cam? null

The unit comes with a 12 volt adapter that plugs into the 12v power outlet. I tried the USB power source and the picture quality had lines running through it. The 12 volt adapter has some find of filter in it and recommend not to direct wire. I believe this is actually a 5 volts since it will light up when plugged into your USB port.
