• Are you sure the camera was in record mode before and not just turned on?

• The unit only has a small internal memory. Being that this unit continues to record you’ll need the Micro SD card to gain full functionality of dash cam. I purchased a 32 gb micro as card and the unit will overwrite once disc is full.
