Has anyone experienced unusable audio conversion with this device? I have one such device plugged into the HDMI output of a cable converter, and it produces perfectly usable analog video, but the audio is nothing but unusable static. null

For the benefit of those who might have this problem, it was not a cabling issue. The device to which this coverter had been connected was configured for Dolby Digital audio out through HDMI. Obviously, there is no Dolby Digital decoder in this device; consequently, changing the other device's output to plain, two-channel stereo solved this problem..

I had the same problem and found out that the composite cable that I was using was faulty. After replacing the cable it has been working fine.

I fixed my problem by changing the audio setting on my fire stick to Dolby with the digital signal off.

Yes! I got static over the fire stick but I just had to change my settings (on the fire stick) to ‘Dolby Digital Plus off’. Works great!
